HOW DID THE HIPPIE CHICK WHO STOOD SO CLOSE TO THE SPEAKERS AT CONCERTS THAT HER CHEEKS WERE BLOWN BACK FROM THE AIR THAT WAS BEING PUSHED OUT END UP AS THE OLD LADY WHO SAYS:
  • I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW YOU CAN LISTEN TO THAT, YOU CAN'T EVEN UNDERSTAND THE WORDS.
  • IF YOU DON'T TURN THAT DOWN, YOU'RE GOING TO HURT YOUR EARS FOR LIFE.
  • WHY DO THEY DRESS LIKE THAT?
  • TURN THAT DOWN, I CAN'T HEAR MYSELF THINK!

PLEASE...WILL YOU ALL TELL ME THAT I'M NOT THAT OLD...JUST SMARTER?

Every generation has it's own sound...it's in the production, the technology...it's really hard to liten to something that came AFTER your chosen music-time...easier to go earlier for some reason. That's my opinion.

I think all of the same things at times, and I'm 25. If you like, you can use me as evidence that this type of thinking is not the result of being old. I like all kinds of music, but I don't like listening to it at blaring volumes. (It really does damage your ears for life!) Also I don't understand some of the things that women my age or younger wear, but that's a rant for a different occasion.

Babe, it's ok... I grew up an 80's chick, with Aerosmith, the Cure, Henry Rollins, Nirvana, etc.. I don't understand a lot of things about todays' teenagers. Like why the butt-cleavage? On cute girls, I can understand it, but the look is bad on boys with huge baggy pants around thier knees, I can't bear it. It's a waste of good ass, to wear such baggy pants. Boys, I want to see you in tight jeans again! :-)
I'm 33, and have no idea how that happened.. I still feel 17, but am really out of the loop now. sigh.. I hear you.

I'm with sugaboo...I'm about to turn 40, but I love the new bands. My 13-year-old and I like most of the same stuff, and we discuss the merits of this band and that band like I would with people my own age. I don't want to listen to the same music over and over all my life. I want diversity and novelty. Gimme more & make it loud! There's nothing like a bass beat so loud it makes you feel like you're gonna puke!

I have to agree that it all isn't bad, and sugahboo, I KNOW why you think 50 cent is so great, you're not fooling me...I think it's true, I've just mellowed and can't keep up with the life anymore....(do you think it had anything to do with the drugs?)
